There is also an inn within the monastery complex. The Morača Monastery was built in the Raška style, while the main portal was made in the Romanesque style. After you had a good night’s sleep and fueled your energy with breakfast, we kick off the day with a tour to the Old town of Kotor. As soon as we start our story and take the first steps on its ancient passages, you will understand why Kotor is under the protection of UNESCO and ranked as a number 1 must-visit place in the world by the Lonely Planet. Following the panoramic ride of the Bay of Kotor, our next destination is Perast, once one of the most powerful and richest villages on the Adriatic coast. Although small, Perast has 16 churches and the spirit of Venice in it. Like the whole Boka Bay, Perast was the target of Byzantium, Venice, Austria-Hungary and France, who left their imprint in the architectural and cultural DNA of the town. One of the islands that makes this place even more colorful and that adds to its charm is Our Lady of the Rocks, whose foundation is carried by the legend from there we will continue with a boat ride to the beautiful island of Our Lady of The Rocks and its church. Our next stop is a bit luxurious one in Tivat, Porto Montenegro. As we finish our day you will have constant panoramic views and the opportunity to catch quite a few viewpoints at various attractive locations before returning to the starting point. One of the most cherished expressions of hospitality in Montenegro is found at the dining table. Guests are often treated to a feast that reflects the rich culinary heritage of the region. Families take great pride in preparing traditional dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. From *pršut* (cured ham) and *njeguški sir* (cheese) to hearty stews and freshly caught seafood, every meal is an invitation to savor the flavors of Montenegro. As you sit at the table, you’ll find that sharing food is not just about nourishment; it’s a celebration of community and togetherness. It is customary to raise a glass of local wine or *rakija* (fruit brandy) in a toast, wishing health and happiness to all present. The warmth of the Montenegrin spirit flows freely, making every meal an occasion to create lasting memories.
Cultural Richness
Montenegro’s hospitality is deeply rooted in its cultural richness. Guests are often welcomed into homes, where families proudly showcase their traditions, from folk music and dance to handcrafted artisanal goods. Visitors may find themselves participating in local festivities, where they can experience the vibrant rhythms of traditional music and the joyous spirit of Montenegrin celebrations. These moments allow travelers to immerse themselves in the culture, creating connections that transcend borders.

My 7 days tour of Montenegro was superb. I was based in a 5 star hotel in Cetinje & it was a real pleasure to come back to my suite every afternoon having seen & experienced yet more highlights of this amazing country. My guide & driver, Bobo, was able to answer all my questions so I learned a great deal about the history & culture. I really appreciated his company.

Montenegro is an underrated gem! The tour was perfect even though the weather wasn't at all times, but Borislav, our tour escort made sure we plan our day such that we make most of the sunny days as well as enjoy the rainy ones. The tour was well organized, well paced, communication was great and we were well taken care of at every step. We'd love to visit again someday cause 8 days isn't enough to explore this beautiful country!

The tour in Montenegro was really nice. Montours was an excellent partner from the planning stage to the very end. And our tour guide, Tihomir, was perfect! Montenegro is a lovely country and we hope to return to see more of it. We had some difficulties with the payment function on TourRadar's website and some of the communication seemed complicated, but we managed. Thank you! Carolyn

Montenegro is an underrated gem! The tour was perfect even Montenegro was a beautiful country and having a private guide was an awesome way to experience many parts of it. Bogdan was a calm and competent driver on the steep and winding roads, and shared restaurant recommendations and anecdotes about the country, as well as some laughs with us. We had the good fortune to accept an offer to switch our last two nights to Cetinje, a beautiful town that it was great to explore as it was very different from Budva, which we also very much enjoyed.
