This tour includes several different must-see locations in the very heart of Montenegro. Cetinje Old Royal Capital, one of our most beautiful mountains and National parks – Lovcen and Njegusi kings’ village.
You will have the opportunity to enjoy the panoramic drive from the Riviera and sea landscapes to the highest peaks of Lovcen. First, you’ll take a walk around Cetinje, the Old Royal Capital of Montenegro, the cultural and historical centre of the country. In Cetinje, you will have a chance to get acquainted with the history of Montenegro and its old ways during the visits to the National Museum, King Nikola’s Palace, several old embassies, the Monastery, and a few other important locations. Cetinje is home to an array of museums, galleries, and cultural institutions that showcase Montenegro’s rich history and art. From Cetinje, we continue our journey through the untouched nature of the National Park to the Mausoleum which is located on Lovcen’s highest peak Jezerski vrh (1,657 m). 461 steps will take you to the ever-resting place of one of Montenegro’s most important rulers and poets, Petar II Petrovic Njegos. Dominated by the majestic peaks of Mount Lovćen, the park offers stunning vistas that stretch for miles, revealing a tapestry of valleys, forests, and quaint villages below. The iconic Njegoš Mausoleum, perched atop a peak, pays tribute to the revered poet and ruler Petar II Petrović Njegoš, offering visitors a glimpse into Montenegro’s rich heritage.
After the Mausoleum, the road will take us to the village of Njegusi, with one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the world and a mandatory photo stop. Apart from that, Njegusi is significant in the traditional cuisine for its well-known njeguski pršut (prosciutto) and cheese therefore njeguski sandwiches are included. On our way back, we are taking the other way around on the famous 25 serpentines (curves). They are an adventure for themselves and with the view of Boka Bay that follows us to the starting point.
