24 Jan Anna Maree MacDonald, Queensland, AUS on Heartland of Montenegro Trip
Just returned from a seven-day private tour in Montenegro. Montours tour guide, Bobo, was very knowledgeable and justifiably proud about all aspects of his country’s of his Montenegrin culture and its history. Bobo was an excellent driver on the narrow and challenging roads, he also took great photos because “selfies” don’t do the stunning scenery justice.
I had an amazing immersion in Montenegrin culture with visits to the Ostrog Monastery and the Lovcen Mountain Mausoleum; experienced breathtaking mountains, lakes and villages with centuries of history; a boat trip on the amazing Skadar Lake with all its wildlife; Beautiful secluded beaches of Sveti Stefan and all the coastal villages around Boka Bay. The Kotor old town with its fortifications going back to Venetian and Roman times was exceptional.
We had exceptional experiences with local producers – tastings of wine, prosciutto, other organic products.
Hotel Gradska in Cetinje was very comfortable with an exceptional room. Cetinje, the original capital of Montenegro had many palaces and museums with fascinating displays of the historical past and life in Montenegro.
Montours provided excellent recommendations for restaurants in Cetinje including an amazing cake shop
Poslasticarnica Bonita and Restaurant Kole.
Montours was an exceptional travel agency to deal with, and I would certainly recommend it to all my family and acquaintances to discover the hidden gem that is Montenegro.
